Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is a virtual tour?

A. A virtual tour means you are watching a guided tour of NYC on your TV, computer, or tablet. Your tour is created and led by a qualified, licensed New York City tour guide.

Q. Is this a live virtual tour?

A. No. With a live virtual tour you can only see what the guide is able to show you in real time. So, for example, a 1 hour live virtual tour of New York City means the guide has 1 hour to show you the City while he or she is there in person giving you the tour. This limits how much you can see since getting around the city takes time. Our virtual tours are pre-recorded. This means when you take one of our virtual tours you get to see in less than 2 hours what would normally take you an entire day to see in person or several days in a live virtual tour! Plus, on a pre-recorded virtual tour you can pause or rewind the tour when you need to. It’s an incredible value for your money.

Q. What is The Game?

A. The Game is a unique online experience that is part virtual tour / part “escape room”-type game. If you love solving puzzles while exploring New York City at the same time The Game is for you! Click here to learn more.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. You can cancel with 24 hours notice. There is a $1 cancellation fee to cover processing fees. There are no refunds with less than 24 hours notice.

Q. Can I re-schedule my virtual tour if I can't make it?

A. Yes. You may re-schedule with at least 24 hours notice from your originally scheduled date and time without any fees incurred. If you have to re-schedule within less then 24 hours from your originally scheduled date and time than you must cancel your tour and book a new one.

Q. Can I share the virtual tour with others who want to watch it?

A. You only pay one price and anyone gathered around the TV, computer or tablet may watch the virtual tour or play The Game. However, the virtual tour is password-protected and may not be shared with others. The password given expires shortly after it is given to you.

Q. How long do I have to watch the virtual tour or play the Game?

A. You may watch your virtual tour or play The Game only on the day you have scheduled. Thereafter, the password will expire and will no longer be valid.

Q. Will there be more virtual tours and games coming soon?

A. Yes! Stay up-to-date by signing up for email notifications. Click here to see what’s coming soon.

Q. Are there discounts for booking more than one virtual tour or game?

A. Yes! When you book any virtual tour or game we’ll give you a coupon code for 25% off your next virtual tour or game.

Q. Do you also do live in-person tours of New York City?

A. Another yes! Call us at (631) 418-6585, email Jason directly or visit RomancingManhattanTours.com (new website coming soon!). When you book your virtual tour or game we’ll give you a $25 gift card to a live in-person tour.

Q. If I can visit NYC in person why would I want to take a virtual tour?

A. A virtual tour is a great way to get introduced to New York City, meet the people who can give you a live in-person tour and discover which parts of the City you love the most and want to see more of. A virtual tour is a helpful NYC pre-trip primer!
